I am alexander, I am twenty three years old. I live in central Ohio and work at a hotel. my biggest fears are dogs, illness, and unplanned pregnancy. If I could change anything about how I was raised it would be growing up in a more open environment and being pushed out of my comfort zone more frequently.
here is a compilation of my top 5 art pieces per discipline.
things I like:
rubix cubes, microsoft excel, freud, tums, polar sparkling water, dotted notebook paper, sudoku, romeos pizza, console emulation, printed NYT crosswords, biking, walking, capuchin monkeys, fantasy sports, buying CDs at thrift shops, diet coke, minor league sports, post-impressionism, modernist writing, rateyourmusic blogs, sunsets, skunks, puppets, indoor bouldering, listening to fm sports radio, the rural midwest, roadside attractions, John Green, minesweeper, chess, Conways Game of life, the idea of bull of heaven, Harmony Korine, Canada, waterfalls, amtrak, Gospel of John, and so on and so forth.
I started this website because of my deep distain for the internet. There was a time that I truly believed that the internet should be reserved for files and nothing else, and this opinion is not built out of logic (like many of my opinions) but anger at how instagram morphed my young frontal lobe. I learned all the coding from w3 schools and did not use any templates (I know, shocked arent you?) I like neocities as a place to host, but to be honest the culture of the "revived internet" feels pretty scattered. I don't think it is anyones fault really, the infastructure is inherintly disconnected, as opposed to a place on the social internet, where we are all using the same kind of site and same few methods of direct communication. Really it is just me coming to terms with making something and nobody really caring, which is fine, but I have always been interested in the idea of releasing things in a lot of ways. Anyways, I organized this as I went on, and I have had to go back and reorganize folders and often half abandoned projects because of forgetfulness. my goal for the site is to have it be a general hub for all of my most important creative pursuits as well as a place where I can make cute shrines and such. I also don't want it to look too aesthetic, I think much of the beauty of the old internet is basic html that is a little bit ugly.
** im sure i have more to say.**
